Happy Friday, friends! 🌴
As we come to the end of Lent, we arrive at one of the most meaningful moments in the Church year: Palm Sunday. This Sunday begins Holy Week, when we walk closely with Jesus through His final days, leading us to the joy of Easter.
For families with young children, Palm Sunday is a beautiful and tangible way to enter into this story. The waving palms, the word “Hosanna,” and the image of Jesus entering Jerusalem all give children something they can see, hear, and remember.

Hosanna! Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord! - Mark 11:9

Palm Sunday & the Beginning of Holy Week
This Sunday, we celebrate Palm Sunday, when Jesus entered Jerusalem and the people welcomed Him with joy, waving palm branches and praising Him.
As the week continues, the story becomes more serious as we remember Jesus’ love and sacrifice. Even for little ones, we can gently begin to share that this is a very special and important week in our faith.
You might say:
- “The people were so happy to see Jesus.”
- “We say ‘Hosanna’ to praise Him too.”
- “We are getting ready for Easter.
Something to notice: Praise
Praise means telling God how much we love Him and thanking Him for who He is.
This weekend, prepare for Palm Sunday by:
- Practicing saying: “Hosanna!” together
- Talking about welcoming Jesus into our hearts
- Looking for palms at Mass and explaining what they mean
Simple anticipation helps children enter the moment with joy.
